My Wine of The Month for September is The Mooring Cape Red 2025
(WO Western Cape). The label is uninformative, the seller says it is 70%Pinotge and 30% Cinsaut which would qualify it as a Cape Blend, but perhaps the producers want to keep options open for future vintages.
It's a pleasant enough wine, tasting of not much beyond redcurrants and cherries. But I'd like a bit more oomph.
At only 11% abv it seems manufactured for the UK market which is now taxing wines on their abv supposedly to encourage low alcohol wines.
